My Take on KOBO Pickleball
Let me “Axe” you this? Would you use this KOBO Thunder AXE Infinity? I know I am a sucker for a different design!
KOBO has put together a lineup that takes a fairly engineering-focused approach to paddle design. The brand offers paddles using carbon fiber, Kevlar and different core technologies, with a range of shapes and constructions designed to produce different combinations of power, control, spin and feel. They make some bold claims about their grit being different and not wearing out as well.
What stands out to me is that KOBO isn’t simply trying to make another generic carbon-fiber paddle. The lineup has some distinctive designs and construction choices, while still offering options at different price points. That gives players a chance to explore some newer paddle technology without automatically going straight to the biggest names in pickleball.
I think KOBO is worth a look if you’re someone who enjoys trying smaller or less-established brands. There are some genuinely interesting designs in the lineup, and the 15% DINKDYNASTY15 discount makes it a little easier to experiment without paying full price.
Who Should Consider KOBO?
KOBO is worth considering for players who:
- Want to try a smaller paddle brand outside the usual big names
- Are interested in carbon-fiber or Kevlar paddle construction
- Want different paddle shapes and playing characteristics to choose from
- Are looking for modern paddle technology at a range of price points
- Someone not afraid to drop Boomstik level cash for something truly different 😄
Whether you’re looking for more power, control, spin or an all-court setup, KOBO has several different options to explore rather than taking a one-paddle-fits-everyone approach.
