My Take on Ethos Pickleball
Ethos Pickleball stands out for its focus on the connection between a player’s hand and their paddle. Its Pro Undergrip system is designed to sit beneath your regular overgrip, using molded silicone and shaped ridges to help your hand find a consistent position on the handle. It also aims to reduce vibration and provide a more secure feel without adding unnecessary bulk.
The Pro Undergrip lineup includes several options for different preferences. The RH-UL is the ultralight model for right-handed players who want a thinner feel, while the RH-LW and LH-LW offer lightweight options for right- and left-handed players. The RH-MW and Original Pro Undergrip provide a thicker feel with additional vibration dampening.
Ethos also offers paddles, including the Dunamis Pro, alongside other models such as the Arete, Scoria and Telos. That gives players options beyond grip accessories if they are exploring the brand’s wider equipment range. The undergrips are particularly interesting because changing the handle feel can influence how securely and comfortably a paddle sits in your hand.
For players who are experimenting with paddle balance, grip size or hand positioning, an undergrip is another equipment variable worth considering. Ethos offers different thicknesses and hand-specific designs, so choosing the right version depends on whether you prioritize a close handle feel, additional cushioning or a little more counterweight in the handle.
Who Should Consider Ethos Pickleball?
Ethos is worth considering for players who want to customize the way their paddle handle feels. If your factory grip feels too bulky, you want more consistent finger positioning, or you are interested in reducing vibration through the handle, the Pro Undergrip range offers several thicknesses to compare.
Players who prefer a lighter, closer-to-the-handle feel may want to look at the RH-UL, while left-handed players can consider the LH-LW. Those who prefer a thicker undergrip can compare the RH-MW and Original Pro Undergrip. Players shopping for a paddle rather than a grip accessory can also explore the Dunamis Pro and other Ethos models.
