Dragon Race Fundraiser...
Every year Salford, near Manchester, hosts a dragon boat race made up of teams from around the country supporting a variety of charities in order to raise funds. For a high octane, energetic way to fundraise, you can't do better. Watching the races is just as much fun!

Every boat holds up to 16 paddlers and a drummer. Heats are held throughout the day and the final winners are awarded their own Olympic style medals and a dragon trophy as a momento of the day.
Charities supported include Sue Ryder Homes, Help for Heroes and the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. Why not create your own team this year and support a charity of your choice on June 19th 2011? Training is given on the day in how to row and steer the dragon boats and it is a really easy technique so picking it up won't be a problem.
